Green glass bows
« on: May 30, 2015, 10:43:00 PM »
I'm in the process of building a ASL hill style longbow with green glass and was wondering what riser would look good and compliment the bamboo cores and green glass. Any pics of your green glass bows as well.

Shedua?

I do love the look of the green glass great northern that is frequently advertised on back of TBM.

I went with Bubinga on my Northern Mist Classic.  Looks nice.  I also like Shedua or Myrtle w/ green glass.

I like myrtle myself.

I like Maple on Green glass.

I'm just a fan of green glass regardless of color, I think a dark wood would look great as well, maybe walnut or rose wood?

I went with cherry in my riser on my NM Baraga, I had Steve use osage on the belly with green glass on the back.
Too many bows to list, and so many more I want to try!  Keep the wind in your face, and your broadheads sharp.

I think with the green glass just about any wood will look good. With brown, black, or clear I always love looking at the combinations of woods against them, but on any white or green glass bows I've seen all look cool. Maybe just because their such contrasting colors.

I traded one green glass bow for another green glass bow, I have a Howard Hill Centenial, the green glass is so dark you need to place it in the sun to see it green otherwise it looks black. It has a soft myrle riser and white glass on the belly, boy do I love this bow.

Bubinga and green with white accents is my favorite.  Just reminds me of an old Bear and looks damn good in my opinion.

I like green glass, especially that used by Ernie Root as in this mid 50's recurve model pictured below:

I recently ordered a Steve Turay bow with green glass back and white belly...and let Steve decide on a riser.  He selected bolivian rosewood and I was very happy.

However, I do agree that just about anything looks nice with green glass.
