« on: May 31, 2015, 11:23:00 PM »
Bought a loggy bayou today. Has any one did any modifications to make it quieter, safer, and easier to use? I thought painting it with flexseal to quieten down

I've used one since '88, and never had an issue safety wise.  The only noise I really had was the "doyyyying" that the strap would make if too much was sticking out. Once I was set and the stand was secured into place it was solid and quite in my opinion. I love mind because it's light and easy to set up. I use it with out the hand climber.

Mine was pretty quiet and one of the safest and solidest stands once installed correctly. A PITA to put up and get locked in and out though and I got so I couldn't squat anymore without getting leg cramps so I sold it.

It's the only climber I will use. Mine is an older one with the braided nylon cinch rope to secure the seat so I carry a ratchet strap for added security though I've never actually had a problem with the rope. I find it to be very quiet going up and down the tree. A little noisy setting it up if you're not careful with the metal band and locking pins. I don't think it's a pita to set up, but I've done it as o many times I could do it blindfolded.

I only use one climber is a loggy have been for longer then I care to remember it the best as far as I am concerned. Mine has the web seat I wore 3 of the Chinese rope screw knob parts then I threw that all out and use a ratchet strap. I did add 4 two on each side sharp pointed bolts threw the rubber part in the base that goes against the tree no slip what so ever none did I say none. I only hope some day I can find some fool that does not know what he has and sells it to me so I have another as backup. I do believe this one will last my lifetime through at least I hope so.   Widow
