No thanks. whenever im huntin and i see a deer and i decide im going to try and shoot him my heart goes off to the races, reguardless the size or sex. And that is why i hunt, not for the "trophy kill" but im not saying i wouldnt shoot i nice 10 over a doe

Heck yeah, As long as it was one off of the front end!
Got plenty of them I can get rid of!
It's those back end ones that get pretty precious!

LOL Not fer nothin but if any of us actually did shoot a world record the related stress that could well come with it may just take that yr anyway.
Guess I'll worry about it if one steps out and offers me a shot......worry about shot placement that is not if it'll shorten my life, that could happen today on my way home like it did to a friend of mine last Thur evening,he was laid to rest yesterday....live for today, tomorrow isn't a given

Absolutely not. Bowhunting may be my favorite thing but I'm afraid it isn't the only thing. Life is a gift too precious-every second of it. The only things I'd do that for are my sons. Besides, I'm bound to get lucky if I keep showing up. Grant

Not a chance!!! It's about the hunt and being able to hunt. Besides that what would have to look forward to after that. If it's only about killing the biggest......YOUR DONE!!!!

Eric, read my post. I would not do it for fame or money but just tohave been in the presence of such a great animal and being able to kill him. I have let me family read this and they understand and being family say if it makes ya happy than we are happy! Shawn

At 59 I can not afford to lose a year, don't know how many more years I have left. Just enjoying what time I have left and 13 grandkids.

Brian,
That elk of Paul's I think is a 220 bull:
Paul has the advantage of making EVERYTHING he kills LOOK like a world record!
I'm on the other end of the spectrum with Biggie..if I kill something large it just looks normal sized cause I am so big. If I killed a moose it would probably look like a shetland pony if I were standing next to it.

Giving me a world record buck still doesn't mean I earned it! If I don't earn it, it isn't that special.

It's not about the trophy or the record.... I said no way and I would have given the same answer 22 years ago!

Ray-I can relate! LOL
6-3 240 :(
If I were too shoot a world record bull elk; how much of that elk would I get to eat... as opposed to if I shot an average cow elk? I mean everyone would want some of the meat from a world record elk- right?
Me thinks I will skip shooting a world record- for that reason alone!
Whew.... the preasure is off !
