Black Widow PA - one piece recurve owners
« on: June 11, 2015, 11:07:00 PM »
Well I was just wondering what you owners of The PA think of the bow. The good the bad and the- - - - ? Do you still have one what are your thoughts? Is it quiet how does it handle. I'm thinking about one in 60" @ 40ish #. I will do the try before you buy. I just thought I would see what you owners think of them. Thank you

I like them a lot.I think they are the best looking Widow aesthetically speaking. They will be a tad lighter in the hand than the PSA.They shoot very nice and handle well.

Mine were pretty quiet.I used a 8 strand SBD bowstring and wool puffs.

Their my favorite Widow personally.

I've had a couple, both 60", and I do like the looks and feel of the bow.  However, they are both now on someone else's rack since I fell for that KB model which I want in 56".  BTW, both the PA models I had were a tad more weight than I was really comfortable with, so that was most of the issue I think...and I just wanted a shorter bow.

I have owned three PAX's, at one time, they were my favorite model. They are louder than the takedown models and require more tuning in that area. I could never get them quiet enough to suit me with the stock 14 strand string, a Rick ****** string and some careful tuning made them all quieter.
I have since sold all three. I have two bows that suit me best now, a Tall Tines recurve with 2 limb sets, and a Shrew carbon/foam Classic Hunter T/D all shooting Rick's strings.
I miss the buying and trading bows somewhat but there is no need anymore.

Hah! I have been away for a good while but apparently Rick's last name is now frowned upon here.
Starts with a B and  AR I think ends with bee.
