Cant wait to get in the woods! (pix)
« on: October 10, 2007, 12:28:00 PM »
Well I have finally gotten enough confidence to hunt again with the recurve this year...sent my ancient spirit away for repairs so all I had was my bear tigercat and hadn't shot broadheads out of it yet.

Started shooting a recurve 7-8 months ago and never thought I'd be hunting with it...just did it to have fun with a bunch of buddies but I've become addicted!

Pretty much spent all week getting it ready finding broadheads playing around and finding the perfect flight and arrow combo (man what a mission LOL)  But now I am ready to hunt!

New archery range w/ a farewell to the Ancient Spirit before I sent it out for new Limbs:

And here is my 21 yards group with broadheads this morning!  I would never have thought I would be able to make such improvements in just such a short period of time!

Deadbolt;
 I've been considering trying to find a Tigercat and I didn't know how they felt and shot but in your hands, it seems to do the job quite well. Do they stack much?

Sal...

Well find me a good tree I checked the climber and its set to go had to throw the backpack straps on for the trip in and packed just the essentials (I carry to much crap in the woods its time to simplify things LOL)  So it will be me, the bow, the stand, and a knife LOL!

Just send me your address or how to get there...I'm exit 89 on the parkway so I need to hit up like exit 130 on the parkway to get 287N then get to 78W and figure your area out from there.  I'll probably leave my house around 3am if its as far as you say.

Shoot em up tonight nothing better then fresh protein...I'm still eating frozen stuff from last season!  :(

Big Dave...

I love the bow...but everyone else that has shot it HATES it LOL.  I dont encounter any stack but it is a longbow and low poundage (43# @28).

It takes a little getting use to and anyone that isn't use to the bow gets beat up by it LOL...arm slap like a SOB and they just dont feel comfortable shooting it.  This bow has been thrown to the ground many of times by people she smacked and they weren't expecting it b/c i dont wear an arm guard or anything.  I on the other hand love the bow and she treats me great...I think we have bonded and I give her what she wants and she gives me what I want!

I had someone look at the bow and they said mine was a 1959 I want to say.  There were only two years they made this bow and he figured that out by the bear medalion and the way it was positioned.  I got this one at a great price and i don't think I could ever part with it...I dont know how someone could sell it LOL.
