Pavan:
I have 4 young children that are all true blessings, but when I get in the woods, be still, and quiet....I am bound to be asleep soon....I absolutely enjoy my nap hunting!!

Anyway, aside from taking less naps I need to commit myself to going in deeper....go the extra distance in before taking my nap, LOL!

1)I'm going to focus on hunting more with friends and family...I really made an effort the last couple years and have had some of the best seasons  as far as shared memories go.
2)I've also got some good spots on several public land areas and plan to hunt more strategic dates this year.
3)I'm going Elk hunting this year! Something has always come up through the years and I'll be missing a few events but I'm going

I have another Hill style that needs to be bloodied up.  I guess I will use that bow instead of my go to RER.  At least to start.

Last year I was buildiing a shop that got off to a late start (concrete finally poured in early October)and because of weather, needed immediate attention.  Because of that, I did very little bowhunting after the concrete pour.

I plan on NOT having that happen again this year.

I have been thinking about actually hunting whitetails this year...or at least buying a tag in case an incidental opportunity comes up

I set out a while ago to reduce my herd of 40 bows...And I am finally down to 42

Thinking more about this, although I generally kill a deer in WI,  I have yet to kill a deer on my property in da UP.  I don't really need that much meat just now and I keep letting them walk.  This year, I may take one, just to break the bubble.

Going to hunt some public land in east Tx this season also more on the ground. Spend more time patterning deer than sitting in a tree.

I actually took a full 9 days off during what should be the Ohio rut.  Wife's not super happy about it, but it's how I heal from life and work.  Also invited a couple folks to join me which is new for me.

I am going to my BIL's on opening day regardless of how hot it might be.

One of my problems of being able to hunt when I want is I don't hunt near as hard..like stay up a tree near long enough.

I used to always sit before daylight till at least 11:30am and most time make myself stay til 12:00PM.

Now I can talk myself down anytime of the morning just to go cook breakfast...and due to that, very seldom anymore is fried venison part of it.

I deer hunted exclusively from the ground when I was a kid/younger.  In fact, tree stands weren't even legal then.  Been hunting for deer out of trees pretty much the last 30 years.  Plan to hunt more from the ground this year.

All my western hunts are still hunting, stalking. Enjoy that a lot.  Need to do more of it back home for deer.

I'd really like to put a little more time in on some public ground down here in NC.  I've had zero luck on public ground here and want to learn more and put myself on some public game - that would give me a real sense of satisfaction.

I've always bow hunted out of tree stands. This year I'm going to do most of my hunting from the ground. Also I'm going on a couple of out of state hunts with my oldest son. Going to Missouri and Arkansas this fall. Can't wait! Oh, will be using a new Rainy Day bow this season too!

I'm going to be scouting for new hunting ground.  My wife and I move 3 hours from my honey hole.     :banghead:  that's knew for me I've hunted my deer in the same spot for 15 years.

This thread got me thinking. Time to do something different this year. So, I will be doing some still hunting mid-day during the rut. Can't sit still that long in a tree stand anymore anyway so no sense wasting the day. Read a lot about guys clobbering the big one at noon. Might just as well be me.
