light weight plaid shirt
« on: July 24, 2015, 06:07:00 PM »
Hey all just wondering where I can pick up a light button up plaid shirt for early season. I have my asbell for later fall but want something for those early season sets but can't find any, anywhere. Any suggestions. Thank you all as always

I go to the closest mall, and find them for 12-14$. Has been working for me for many years.

Keep an eye on goodwill and yard/garage sales. Estate sales are good places also. I get all my light weight, flannel, and wool plaids from these places, with the exception of my Asbell wool's.

Lite weight flannel should be easy to find. That is what most big box stores have. May be a little soon to be looking. I always had issues finding heavy flannel shirts until I discovered Duluth Trading. They just might have some lite weight stuff as well. They cater to outdoors working men and women.

I usually get mine at the WalMart. They start putting out the long sleeve shirts around August. I buy up quite a few that are earth tone colors. Wear em hunting in bow season then they get put in the rotation for work shirts in the spring. I work in the woods and have to wear long sleeves in the summer because of bugs, poison ivy etc. I really like the Wrangler and Plains shirts there...they are poly cotton blend and are comfortable for summer wearing. All of em I get are the pearl snap variety...which I also like because they have two chest pockets with snap closures for carrying extra stuff. I just try to avoid the ones with the bright silver stitching for wearing hunting.
