X2 what Dan said my frontier shoots great and i was very impressed with how fast it shoots being a string follow bow.  You should be happy if you try one.

Oh no, Dan, you're MY elder, you were born before me!!  But, I still take it as a compliment that we like the same bow.

Well Dan...I took your advice and gave Steve a call.  Very helpful and great to talk to.  We came up with a nice configuration and I can't wait to see it come to fruition.  I explained to Steve that in order to get a bow...I need to sell a bow.  Rules of the household.  So the "D" gets replaced.  I have been wanting one of these for a while.  The forward riser makes so much sense.  Any of you other guys care to share some pics of your Frontiers?

Steve...

I was looking up old posts on this bow.
A few years ago you posted the following.....
"...
I will build this bow mostly in the 66. I can go down to 62 and 63 with power lam adjustment depending on draw length. 29 would be max on the 64 and 28 max on the 62. The 66 would be maxing at 31. God bless you all, Steve"

Are these lengths still available?
Also, how are you measuring draw length?...I typically just measure from the deepest part of the grip to the string..but not everyone does.

Thank you.

John. I have revised the bow as of this year with a shorter riser. This allows me more flexability in bow length. I can now build the bow down to 58 inches . Shortest I have built though and I use it for elk hunting and pull it 28 inches with no stack. So I can build this bow for just about any bow length from 58 to 68 inches. For anything over 30 inches I do recommend the 68 inch bow though because even with all my tweaking it still has some limitations inherent to a D bow.

All bowyers I know measure from the back of the bow at the sight window and 90 degrees to the arrow nock. Brace height is measured from the deepest part of grip and 90 degrees to the string.
Generally the depth of the grip is 1 and 3/4 inch from deepest part to back. This can vary with straight grips and the grip may be rounder and depth more like 1 1/2 inch/ But still , brace is from deepest part of grip to the string and draw length is from string to back of sight window which is the furthest part of the bow from the string. In this case the back is the front haha. Talk about confusing!!!   :knothead:

God bless, Steve

Thanks for the clarification Steve.
..guess I just picked up 1 1/2" of draw ...lol

Very interesting bow.
Sure is cool!
A 62"-64" just might be my style.

Thanks!
