This is from a couple years while at Kazoo and I just came across it so I thought I would share.

One booth ( not sure which one ) had this bow and arrow on display and towards the end of the night Monty was walking around and decided he would try to pull it   :readit:

I think he got it about half way back   :notworthy:

This thing would nock them clean off there feet   :biglaugh:

That is Ace Archery Tackle's bow and arrow.  Gary Davis made the bow to match a display arrow that Ace has.  It's a great piece of osage.

That's Bob from Ace (broadheads) selfbow.  Seems it's around 130-something @ 36"?  Somewhere in that range.  I made a new string for it a year or two ago, but can't remember the specifics. Think it was Gary Davis of Rattlestick Bows who made it.

I LOVE that bow!!!!!!

I've had the good fortune to shoot it a bunch of times  over the past couple years. I will hopefully shoot it a bit at Great Lakes Longbow Invitational again this weekend!

Chad, that string turned out really nice. I was curious who made it, now I know. Did you have a peg on your board for 84" AMO?    :biglaugh:

Picture below was the first time I shot it with the new string/new "skinny" arrow at Compton Rendezvous 2014 if I recall correctly.

Thanks!  No 84" peg on my board--that one was a bit tricky.  Can't remember if it's 21 or 24 strands of B-55...think the serving is .014 or .019 Halo.

I've pulled it a few times, but never shot it.  Need to do that next time I see Bob...if I can get it back again!

Gary and Pappy made that at the Tenn. Classic a few years ago, I think.

That thing is the Beauty AND the Beast!

Strung or unstrung it is absolutely a piece of artwork to behold.  Everyone should check it out if they get a chance!

Shooting it is amazingly quiet with just a slight satisfying thump when the string comes to rest. For me it's far more enjoyable to shoot than the majority of the laminated ASLs I've shot in similar poundage... Of course most of those were older Martin ML-10s    :scared:
