Arrow Tuning - New Cari-bow Tuktu !
« on: August 06, 2015, 04:22:00 PM »
No, it's not one of THOSE threads that everyone dreads.       :D

I just unpacked my new Cari-bow Tuktu EX this morning. It's a 62" 2 piece, 51#@28" with spalted myrtle veneers, and Macassar ebony flare in the riser. I don't even know what the other riser wood is yet - I just told Abe to match the veneers. Elk antler on the grip overlay, and brown beaver-tail.

Abe confirmed that the lighter riser wood is myrtle.    :)

I grabbed 4 different wood arrows, with field points ranging from 125 to 160 grains, in varying lengths and spines, and started shooting from 15 yards.

I've narrowed it down to two that seem to work best.

The riser.

Lower limb.

Upper limb.

These two arrows weren't always grouped  this  tight, but I'm not complaining.       :)

Ron,

   :bigsmyl:      (YES!)

The 145 grain field points on the footed arrows work best with this bow.
