Knives, I love em
« on: August 14, 2015, 09:04:00 AM »
Don't tell C.L. Matteo my blacksmith about this.    :knothead:

I got this from ML Knives. Hand forged 4 5/8" blade, 9 1/4" OA, aged walnut handled, leather lined rawhide sheath. It has an old timey look and feel. I need another knife like I need another big toe, but dang I love em.

That is a rugged looking knife. I certainly understand why you like it. Knives are like arrows. There is no such thing as having too many.

We have a couple of Matt's knives.....

I LOVE THEM!!!!! Both were "gifts" Mine was given to me by my TradGang Brother, Kenny Mowrey.(adkmountainken) along with a MountainMan sheath, and a possibles bag with a sheath on the back. His steel/forging/tempering process is AMAZING!!!!! "Hair popping,Shaving sharp, and they STAY THAT WAY!!!!! Chris Dewitt(Bowspirit) shot a porkypine years back & it skinned out the old porky and still shaved hair after he was done!!!!!

The other, was a gift to my son Tyler his 1st year Bowhunting, from our TradGang Brother Manny.(frenchymanny) Tyler is still waiting to gut&skin his "1st Deer" but when he does... This will be the knife he uses, and it will certainly be up to the task!!!

"Sharp" looking knife Ron!!!!! ENJOY!!!!!
I only shoot WOOD arrows... My kid makes them, fast as I can break them!

There is a fine line between Hunting, & Sitting there looking Stupid...

May The Great Spirit Guide Your Arrows..... Happy Hunting!!!

The thing to know about knives. "They are easy to hide. Never jam or run out of bullets. And are really handy for close contact work"

Ron you are not alone in your love for knives. I have quite a few and still usually buy another one every year. That one is a simple beauty.

Nice!! I love knives myself, but when I'm hunting I carry either my Fathers, or my Grandfathers old hunting knives. They're both long gone, but I know they'd like the fact that their knives are still gutting, skinning, and cutting up deer, and other game.

Congrats on your new knife, Ron.

Kenny gave me an ML knife, too. Yours is some sweet doin's, Ron, and the sheath is perfect!

Jon, the strap on the back of the sheath is quite long, the loop is 3 3/4" This allows it to be carried in a high or lower position and also slanted in a cross draw carry. I have other knife sheaths with this kind of strap and I really like the versatility it offers. It has to be fairly tight and not stretch. If you don't use rawhide use thicker leather, not thin or it will stretch too much and not hold it's position on your belt.

That's a purty one!  I'm not sure why those things are so danged addictive.  I have more than I could use in a day, but everyday I see another one I would like to have.
