Weighted inserts for gold tips, question
« on: August 14, 2015, 09:25:00 AM »
My set up requires 175 grains up front. I bought 125 grain magnus stingers and 50 grain inserts for my gold tip traditional shafts. Have any of you used the weighted inserts and if so, does it change your tune? I only ask because it seems with the length of the insert, the weight will be further back the shaft. I was wondering if I should start with the new shafts a little longer or if in your experience there is zero change.

I use heavy inserts in all my arrows, but I start with, and tune with them in.

Put a few together and check your tune. That is the only way you will know for sure. I would bet my bottom dollar that you will not be able to tell any difference at all!

Yep as Bisch says. Hot glue some in and shoot.

It changed the tune when I used them. It seems like weight on the very tip made it act a little different than weight behind the insert. Just my experience.
