Lejeune Archery Club 3D shoot 8/22
« on: August 15, 2015, 09:50:00 AM »
This is the last shoot before deer season, and the last of the year. I'll be going and it is my first shoot in several years, and the first at the new range. If you live in ENC come on out and feed the mosquitoes!

maybe next year when visiting I can make it over there. Have not been there since 1968. I was with 3/6 at the time.

When my son was there a number of years back I remember him saying there was a considerable number of deer on base. Can yall bow hunt there? Let us know how the shoot goes and how many stick shooters turn out.

I did a lot of fishing on base but no hunting.

There are a lot of deer on Lejeune. Some of the best areas are the bow only areas, especially around the golf course. The best part about hunting on base is no dogs running deer.

I chased a really nice, tall, 10 point on that golf course for almost an entire season!

I've had three tours up there in the swamp.

Think Lejeune has lots of deer - come look at Quantico's herd.

Back on subject, I wish that I was up there to shoot on the 22d.  That was a fun course.

My avatar is a picture of my son with a bow that I made him; it was taken while shooting on Lejeune's range.

He is now 12 and the picture is pretty dated...

I remember seeing deer while TAD to the rifle range. I wondered about their sanity. Of course when shooting started they wondered off. I thought about hunting them but 3/6 was going into training for a Med Cruise about hunting season time.
