Big Jim's comments sound very similar to my recent attempt again at bare shafting. I shoot a Sarrels 50@28 but draw around 301/4 inches... when I used 80-85 bare shafts they still all showed weak even with 125 heads.  I couldn't believe it. However,  when fletched, obviously way too stiff with knocks way right....   I now shoot 75-80 Douglas with 125 heads.. I love bare shafting but have also had a tough time getting it perfect because it always shows weak...  good advice from all of you, nice discussion.  I thought Big Jim's thoughts on knock height with split finger also very good. Thanks,

J
