Author Topic: Anyone have any clue what angle the bevel is on a Magnus Stinger broadhead?  (Read 1528 times)

  • Guest
Like said in my title, anybody know the answer? I suck at sharpening things. I bought some 150gr Magnus Stingers to try out after reading some really good reviews of them on here. I want to know what the angle of the bevel is so that when I go to try to sharpen them I will have a good idea how to set up my sharpener, and maybe have a little less of a fight on my hands!!!

Thanks for any info!

I have a Lansky set at 25 degrees that will make my Magnus Stingers shave hair.

I also use a lansky on my 125 grain stingers. 25 degrees works great!

Black marker the angle on them Bisch then just sharpen the leading cutting edge not the entire grind if that makes sense. Also you can't press very hard on those vented blade heads they will bend making it tougher. Light strokes.

so I see on the Magnus web site that they recommend using the Accu knife sharpener or their broadheads?? Does this really work?

What TJ said... I'm a KME man myself...MY Lansky with those big slots were sloppy stroke-to-stroke and I like the more precise angle control of the KME... being like you, Bisch, I suck at sharpening.

That magic marker just on the cutting edge, then adjust your angle to just take off that and you reduce your "fight" tremendously.

Good luck!

I also sent Magnus the same question in an email. Got a reply back yesterday that said the bevel is ground at 19*. That is the same angle as my GK broadheads, so the KME will get a workout today! I'll let you know how it goes, but if it is 19*, I have no doubt everything will workout just fine. I get my GK heads really sharp, and I won't even have to move anything on the sharpener!

I asked the company and he advised I use the 19 degree on my Lansky.

Thanks for your email, the angle is 19 degrees.

Make sure if you take the heads apart, when you put them back together that
the head or heads spin true. We dial in every single head on a dial

Bisch, thats why I prefer KME's knife sharpener over the broadhead sharpener. You can adjust the angle with the knife sharpener.

I use, and only own the knife sharpener, TJ! I normally shoot German Kinetic broadheads, and they are at 19*, so it was already set up correctly. I worked on all my stingers today, and they are scary sharp, and ready for the pigs now!!!!

And thanks for your quick reply to my email, Mike!!!
