yew stave w/o horn nocks
« on: October 13, 2007, 06:04:00 PM »
I have a nice yew stave that I want to work but HATE the look of horn nocks. Are there any attractive alternatives? Thanks

Brian

Horn, antler or wood tip overlays are a nice option

A wood of your choice (hardwood only, I think) would work. You could also add some phenolic accents to the same, if that look appeals to you.

As Ted mentioned, you could also use horn overlays, instead of a full horn nock.

And just noticing Ted's address there, I am sure he has much more experience in this field than myself.   :)
