Habu Bushmaster?
« on: September 26, 2015, 08:25:00 PM »
Hey gang. I just recently acquired a Habu Bushmaster and was wondering if anyone could get me close on it's value? It's got Bobby Worthington's name on it as well. He lived a little under an hour from me so could this be a bow that was custom made for him?

Mine was built in 1999 and was just over $700...a new one now is twice that amount.

if limb was not twisted I would think it would be worth at least $600 all other things being good.  With the twisted limb maybe $200 as if you have to have Chris Cox build a set of new limbs they will run a couple hundred each I imagine.

I would call Chris Cox and find out when it was built and check with him on straightening the limb and get more info....

I am just speculating above...

Here is mine....

Thanks Brock. I actually had this bow given to me and didnt know anything about them before that. I don't mind putting a little money in it to straighten er up since it seems like a high quality bow. I love the way it draws!

4/7/1996 S/N is probably that date of build. Get that limb straight and you'll have a true tack driver. Good luck

Do a search for straightening limb twist or ask on the bowyer's bench and you can get the info you need to straighten that limb in no time - and with $0 invested. That's a great bow & should serve you well.

Thanks guys I will ask on the bowyers bench for sure. Just from the short time that I've had it I can tell a huge difference in feel from my other bows. What would be the best way to store this bow? I'm a little out of my league here.

Twisted limbs most likely happen when stringing and unstringing a bow improperly. You can leave it strung if you store w/out any pressure or weight on the limb tips.
