Bow case takes a beating
« on: September 28, 2015, 11:19:00 AM »
I'm in Austin, TX accompanying my wife on a business trip. I'm not on a hunting trip but plan on hitting a range.
I packed 2 bows and a bunch of arrows. Everything arrived unharmed but the corner of my bow case got crushed in. I hate to think if it was a soft case.
What really pisses me off is you can't get this case anymore. I think I'll go to Lowe's when I get home and see if I can get metal corners to pop-rivet on.
I will be contacting Virgin America to let them know I paid $25.00 extra for this to be checked into baggage.

Sorry about your bow case! How long are you going to be in Austin, and where in Austin are you? I live just north of Austin, and am retired. We might could get together and shoot some???

I'm at the Renaissance Hotel. I'm thinking of going to Archery Country range.

Good news, it did what it was designed to do. Bad news, it happened.

Sorry to see the damage.  Double think the metal corners, they will scratch and snag on everything in their way.  (It was a mistake for me)  The only plastic corners I've ever seen were on commercial packages.

Second thought:  maybe you could cut corners out of a 5 gallon water jug or something similar and glue them on.

You get some black leather and glue it on also.
