Honestly I have no idea how many deer and turkeys we have killed out of blinds in the last ten years. A few raccoons, coyotes and other critters too, they take some getting used to. I have sit and videoed hundreds of animals that we didn't want to shoot bucks and does and most didn't know we were around and yes some have still busted us.
You still need to air your blinds out a decent them before using to get that new smell out of them, we shoot thru the netting most of the time and that helps hold some of the scent in the blind. We still stay as clean as possible and as quiet and use the wind like we would for any other setup for whitetails.
Most of time we are able to use cedar trees and just trim up some lower branches slide the blind in or under the tree and that has always worked well for us. If not we will put them next to one and use branches from another cedar tree to brush them in has worked good too.
This cedar tree has accounted for atleast a dozen deer and turkeys alone and several tradgangers can back me up on this. We have used three different blinds in this location all have worked just fine but I like the big Barronett blinds.
It's in a small transition clearing between feeding and bedding we keep it mowed. The view!
A little preseason scouting from it!
I will post some more setups!
