Hey guys I've been shooting recurve for about 5 years now and am active amuture bowyer. Over the past few months I can't seem to break myself from the HH thread. I have to build one.
Recently my father has expressed interest in going trad with myself but ONLY if I build him a bow. I would like to build two HH so we can both learn them together.
I don't have a ton of time/money to work my way through a bunch of lam thicknesses/total stack and taper rates to reach my desired poundages so here's where I need some help.
Let me start this by saying I in no means am trying to steal any bowyers recipe, I'm just trying to produce two bow at my given targeted poundage so we can begin shooting. I know bowyers bench will be of some help and I will post there also.
I'm asking for anyone with a 64" ntn ASL that preferably has an 15" riser give me the limb thickness at the end of fades and at tips excluding tip wedges or overlays and what poundage your bow is. I'm shooting for between 48-55lbs. I don't need make or model cause again I'm not trying to copy anyone just get two "successful" bows out of the gate.
Any bowyers that read this I would love some help here's my idea, (feel free to give me your if you don't like mine)
64" ntn (we both have short draws)
15" riser
Between 1/2" and 3/8" at nocks
1-1/8" at fades
1/2-3/4" back set at 64"
.05 taper rate
5" tip wedges
Thank you all for your help and hope to someday post a pick on the HH thread of my first successful hunt.
