culleng, I was there last weekend the hunting was tuff I think there where only 12 deer killed all weekend. I'm pretty sure no p&y have been killed yet. I shot a doe on Sat morning but could not find her, hard to stay on a blood trail in the rain.

Sorry about the doe. That sucks. Me and the guys from Fort Gibson will be there this weekend.  Hopefully we will have some luck. We will keep you updated.

Yeah I was there last weekend too. It was a ruff hunt. There was only one doe killed on the first day out of 275 hunters.  When we left on Sunday they had only checked 10 deer in.  Hoping for better movement for the guys and gals this weekend

Thanks Terry. Me and a group of guys will be heading down there this week. From what I am starting to hear and see the bucks are starting to get it on their minds. I hope we have a good weekend.  One guy has never been very much into hunting.  We talked him into putting in with us. With this group we will have a good time regardless of the deer movement.  It will just be good to get away.

Anybody have any news good or bad? I'll be in there this weekend. They still haven't posted this years results on their website.

We hunted hominy this weekend and had a great hunt. Overall the deer movement was slow for everyone I talked to. We don't see much rutting sign until Sunday. This weekend should be much better. There are so many acorns down there this year that the deer don't have to travel much. I shot a small 8pt Friday morning and a doe Sunday morning with my selfbow. We didn't end up finding the doe. My brother killed a doe and then a bruiser Sunday morning about 5 minutes apart. He was hunting on the ground! I couldn't hardly believe it worked. Needless to say we had a great weekend overall.

It was a pleasure to meet ya Tim! After the past couple years at MCAAP I'm a firm believer in not walking too far from the truck. Oddly enough it seems like everytime I've gotten a long way from the roads and bunkers, the less deer I saw. My buddy was 30yds off a main blacktop road this year and missed 3 nice bucks!

I used a 58" Centaur chimera 48@28, Easton axis 500's with 175gr VPA's. My brother was using his Leon Stewart slammer 58" 51@28. Same arrows as me but he used a Simmons tiger shark on the doe and a Magnus 4 blade stinger on the buck.12
