Is it true, my northern brothers /sisters?
« on: November 01, 2015, 01:23:00 PM »
I hear that Ontario is opening spring black bear season for us nonresidents......

Is there any truth to that? If so, I'm ready for a spring bear hunt!!!!!

Good luck, shoot straight and God bless,

That is the word on the street.  Supposed to start in 2016 for 5 years then reevaluate.

It is proposed right now but should happen.  Link is from the Ontario Ministry of Natural Resources.

I took a spring bear there in 1988 and was very disappointed when they suspended the season sometime after that.

I too would like to do another Ontario hunt.

Nice. I hunted there in 92, they closed a few years after.

I keep hearing rumours about proposals!? But have not seen anything concrete in writing! A couple of my bear outfitter friends cancelled going to sportsman shows in the U SA  because they had nothing legislated and did not feel comfortable taking peoples deposit and then possibly have to Cancel .

Harl's link says it's true!
