« on: November 03, 2015, 03:57:00 AM »
I have this old ben person 45 pound fiber glass bow I use for bow fishing or beating around. do the same rules apply to pure fiber glass bows that do to vintage laminate/wood bows?

I doubt it. Those bows are tough.

I have 3 all glass bows that have H.P. strings on them. They shoot just fine.

You should check the limb tips and nock area for any splintering of the glass. The old bows are known to do this.

I have a couple solid glass bows, that have Flemish twist Dacron strings on them. I DO NOT think a FF string would hurt them one bit!!!!!

However... These old glass bows, are REAL THUMPERS!!!!! You MAY get even MORE hand shock, with a FF string... Can't say for sure though, try it out & let us know!!!!!
I only shoot WOOD arrows... My kid makes them, fast as I can break them!

FF will help the bow shoot with less hand shock
I try not to let my mind wander...It is too small and fragile to be out by itself.

Never tried it myself, but I'd think it would work.  It should reduce the shock.  I'd pad the loops good if I tried it.
