I have started hunting out of a Blind a lot the last few years.  Due to the locations I hunt it is always put up in the morning or evening of the hunt.  As long as the netting is down I have no problem with taking deer.  They do look at the blind but I have had them close enough to touch.  I have taken two of my best bucks out of a ground blind.

Last year I used one of those taller ground blinds from 3Rivers to accommodate my 78" longbow. It didn't have to screens on it and I had 3 does come to about 3-4 feet from me. The biggest one looked at me and I thought I was busted. As soon as she looked away I got a complete pass through. Perhaps it was just luck she didn't see me I don't know.

Big magic were you wearing black? I am going to take him out and set up early, and brush it in as best I can. I will continue to take him out and when squirrel season opens on the WMA, I will get hime out then. It opens Nov. 30th.

Ha these stories about the kiddos. Mines is going through an I don't want to hunt with dad phase and that's ok but, we have had some fun times in the woods when she was smaller! once we set up a little blind and she was all over the place flopping in her little chair, yapping, moving, I kept shushing and finally just laughed and said hey kiddo lets go shoot some stumps. We stood up and I'll be darned if a young doe didn't come hoofing it right down the deer trail we are on. lol stopped less than ten yards away. All 3 of us must have looked like something out of a cartoon. I don't know who was more surprised to see who!

My grandson starting setting in blinds with me last year at 5, with the netting up I could care less about camo or black. We had 3 does at 8yds and a 6pt work a scrape at 10 on this hunt and he never made a sound just whispers. I gave him is own small pair of bino's and that kept him busy between deer.

I did find a head net in my pack from turkey season when I got our drinks and snacks out and he enjoyed going Ninja!    :D
