Apparently a true story...
A six-year-old explaining why dog lives are shorter than human lives said "people are born so that they can learn how to live a good life, right?" Continuing, he said "well, dogs already know how to do that, so they don't have to stay as long".

My last two buddies are on the mantle in urns. They are so dedicated to pleasing you. My Bonnie was 13 and she worked with me in the shop counts hours always waiting patiently. She was a border collie and loved to work cattle. My newest border has a very good nose and I'm going to try her at blood trailing.
I would've taken better care of myself,if I'd known I was gonna live this long!

I like dogs more than I like people,,,, I say get a pup to keep her company but she takes it easy now doing the easy tracks maybe where deer dropped in sight and she gets treated like royalty all the way back home,,,, no more big jobs for her and keep her spoiled and happy.

You will never have a better friend than a good dog. Cherish your remaining time with your buddy.

A good dog is better than most people. Time to spoil her rotten. You can lock your wife and your dog out in the snow and when you let them back in the dog still is happy to see you.
Take care of that little dog.

It is sad to see a dog you raised from a pup get down with old age. I took my all time favorite and best squirrel dog on his last hunt. Made a 1/4 mile loop, he treed once then couldn't make it back to the truck. I got him back to the road then I went and got the truck and loaded him up. He died a few weeks later.
