Asbell wool wind blocker recommendations? Updated solution.

South Ms, that is a cool idea! All my Asbell stuff is pull over, so I don't know how well it would work on mine. Nobody in my house sews at all.

LOL, John, I have some very old VHS and DVD's... I don't get TV reception..swore off it.

Sly Stone played in it. Futurisitic crap. He was a cop, did a good thing, but was hung out to dry and put in Cryostasis in a prison where you were frozen. During that time, he was "re-programmmed". His was to knit and sew... LOL Can you see Sly Stone doing crochetting?  it was hilarious! STarred with Sandra Bullock & Wesley snips as the villian.

Anyway... you be doing some far out sewing there and make Sly proud!

Gentleman, putting the wind-blocker on the inside makes as much sense as putting the pink fiberglass insulation on the outside of your house.  

If you want the heat to stay in, the blocker has to stay out.

Then please explain why you don't see a "shell" on the outside of wool garments, but always a liner in the inside of them.

That's because they "market" the product for looks and style, not performance.

You want warmth, wear a down jacket under a light weight camo rain jacket.  No wind, no water, and the heat stays where it belongs.

Looks like you solved the problem!  Great solution.  I wear an old Patagonia pullover that is quilted and wind proof under mine... basically the same solution but yours has real craftsmanship!

I understand, and its a toss up or a compromise.  Either you want total wind proofing and no breath ability or wind resistance and some breath ability so you don't sweat.

I n my case I want the warmth but not all the sweat that comes with it, being in a high humidity and hot climate and only a few cold spells.

Check out Gatorskins.   Thinking about giving them a try.   Supposed to be warm and windproof.   Originally designed for motorcycle riding I believe.

Your right South MS.  I'm often in a stand below 20 degrees with wind gusting 20 to 30.  I need an absolute wind barrier on the outside.  It's like we wrap our houses up here with tyvek to keep the wind from sucking the heat out through the insulation.
