I am looking for a first bow for my 7 year old grandson. Any recommendations from you guys that have young kids or old guys like myself with grandkids would be appricated.
Thanks!

The Black Rhino bows are great - lots available and no wait time which was a big seller for me when I bought my son's first bow when he was 4. He's now 8.
However, for my son's next upgrade, I'm leaning toward having Mike at Maddog Archery build him one.

Another vote for Black Rhino,
www.bows.net.
Maddog and St Joe are also great choices.

I have seven grandkids to supply and can't afford to purchase for them all. The solution has been to make bows for them. There are a lot of build alongs in the how-to tutorials.
The advyis that it's easy to upgrade them as they grow. At age seven, a simple oak slat pyramid style will keep him shooting for a while.

St. Joe River Bows. They are sponsors on here and are fantastic to deal with. I bought my 8 year old a bow at the Baltimore shoot last year and he loves it. I would definitely recommend them.

I have a Maddog Pup and a Black Rhino for my two youngest children...and a Bear Kodiak Cub for my oldest. Excellent little bows...they love em.
St. Joe River makes a great one as well. I think u will be very pleased with it.

We offer a 3 piece TD recurve for youth.
http://dryadbows.com/Youth%20Bows/youthbows.htm
With these you can grow with the child by changing riser length or limb length and weight.

Consider a 3 pc takedown. Its nice to have a riser that you can just pop new limbs on as he grows. Wingnut mentioned this above and that Gryphon II looks like a heck of a bow - it could be handed down through the family. You can also get the Great tree Mohegan for less than $100 and though not nearly as nice it would serve well.
