I flung a few..
« on: December 08, 2015, 10:00:00 AM »
Went out in the yard last night and flung a few arrows from the recurve and it felt really good. I have not shot in about a month. I wasn't all over the place but I wasn't dead eye dick either. I only shot from about 12 yards, but it sure felt good to do it...looking forward to my next shooting session. I guess sometimes you need to step away from the things you love in order to love them more??

Sometimes I think that may be the case.  You had a rough season.. Looking forward to more of your sessions.

I did and didn't. I think I approached it wrong and that made it hard, but i also learned a ton.

"Abcess makes the heart grow fungus!"

Oops. Should have typed "absence makes the heart grow fonder".

Both are true though!

Keep at it and all of a sudden it will come together and then you'll truly be hooked. I usually step away throughout the year and it seems as if these little hiatus doesn't seem to hurt much except for the back muscles, lol.
The essence of the hunt for me is to enter nature and observe+ return safely occasionally with the gift of a life taken.
