What is a Bighorn Predator recurve?
« on: December 10, 2015, 02:48:00 PM »
I know what a Bighorn is and I know what a Predator is. What is a Bighorn Predator? In the used bows on Big Jim's site there are two of them.
They look like a 1 pc Pittsley Predator?

They are just one piece Bighorns, I recently made a deal with Jim and got one off of him. Real nice bow and a great guy to do business with.

Funny that it is a Big Horn, predator model but it looks exactly like a Pittsley Predator. I wonder if there was some cross mojoification? (Austin Powers saying)

I'm pretty sure they are both modeled after the Bear Super Kodiak, which came before either.,

The one piece Bighorn was called the Grand Slam, at least it was when G. Fred Asbel owned the company.  There was/is another company that produced/produces bows under the Bighorn name (not the same company).  Don't know if they named any of their models a Predator.

I checked Big Jim's site.  The two Bighorn "Predators" are definitely Bighorns, not Pittsley predators.  I'm pretty sure there is no writing on the bow that describes them as Predators.  They should be called Grand Slams.  Don't know where along the way the name was changed.

I have a Bighorn Grand SLAM that was made for me in 1997,shot it for a short while (maybe a hundred shots)and put it back in a bow sock hung it on its bow rack and never took it down again.Nothing wrong with it just got bit by the long bow bug and that's all I SHOOT.Never thought about the bow until this thread. Pretty bow.
