A quick word about Ed Cowden
« on: December 20, 2015, 11:15:00 AM »
I just wanted to share a quick thought about a local here, Ed Cowden. If this thread is in the wrong place I apologize.

I recently purchased a bow from Ed and it was nothing short of the best internet "transaction" I have ever made... and I have made TONS of them on many different websites.

Ed was kind, generous, and true to his word. He gave me a very lengthy grace period to decide whether or not I was going to purchase the bow, let me try it before committing to purchase, and even offered to let me pay in installments since Christmas is right around the corner! I took him up on all but the latter. All of this and he was dealing with me, a new member without any background here (though I do have plenty of perfect transactions elsewhere).

Needless to say, the bow was in mint condition (exactly like he had described) and he even threw in a stringer to help me get started since I am new to Trad. Not to mention all of the free advice through email exchanges.

I am new to the trad community and have received nothing but kindness from here and other websites. Thank you, and thank you Ed for being a stand up guy.

Lots of good folks here on the gang! It makes up for the occasional bad apple or poor timing.

Ed is good to deal with, I met him at the Baltimore Bowman shoot by accident. I was looking a blanket with some bows on it and noticed his name on a few......I have one home with his name on it. Next thing I know he is putting his hand out and said you must be ron w. We chatted for a bit and all in all it was a good meeting.

Never dealt with Ed directly, but I do have a longbow with his name on it, a Wallace Mountain.  Ed has good taste.     :bigsmyl:

I have dealt with Ed Cowden and had the same experience, great guy and easy transaction.....when I scan the classified and see his name I immediately check out what he has because I think we shoot the same weights and like the same style of bows.

I love to see there is at least one place that you can actually trust people. Congrats on the new bow.

Uncle Ed is the best.  He has spent countless hours pounding archery fundamentals in my thick skull.  He loves traditional archery and is a wonderful steward of this way of life.

I've also had a transaction with Ed-Class Act.    Enjoy your bow.
