Wow young men!  Yall are definitely encouraging.  I just turned 51.  I know I've got some time and ought not be crying after hearing from yall.  Other than readers I think I need full time glasses.   Also I have noticed is my depth perception seems off.  Coordination is changing and of course overall body strength.   Thought off maybe joining a gym.  Doc told me fryday the chlorestal is high. Monday I hurt my back where I could hardly walk for two days and my wife has bought me some vitamins.  Oh! I'm scheduling my first colonoscopy for next month.  Im falling apart! I know you prob didnt wanna hear my buisness but I'm kind of humored by it all  :) ))

Ray, the colonoscopy is a breeze! It's the crap you have to drink the night before that sucks rotten eggs!

I am 61 been hunting and shooting since the early 70's. I have backed off a little on my draw weight but still hunt with a 60lb Shrew but my target bow is 50lb. My accuracy has been pretty consistent over the years and actually I think I am better shooter at longer distances now then 10 years ago.
For God was in Christ, reconciling the world to himself, no longer counting people’s sins against them. And he gave us this wonderful message of reconciliation.

I've dropped down in weight from 60lbs to 50lbs. Not because I  couldn't handle it but I knew  that a shoulder injury  could put me out of shooting all together. I turned 75 last Oct and I hope to be shooting on my 80th. My accuracy hasn't changed that much but i wasn't that great target shooting. I've always done pretty well stump shooting which I realy enjoy.

I'll be 81 in May and still going. I've dropped down in bow weight to 48# and as long as I am shooting on a regular schedule, I can handle that weight with no problem. Actually, I have improved over the years. I had several bad habits like dropping my bow arm after the release and some target panic issues but I think I have gotten over those problems. I'm never completely satisfied with my shooting, but I'll keep working at it as long as I can.

I'm 66, and most of my bows are between 45 and 50.  Accuracy is better than ever.

I'll be 62 next month. I've been shooting since about 14 years old.  I started on a refrigerator box at 10 yards. Moved back as as I got better. Was hitting pennies the length of my backyard (33 yards) after a couple of years.

My form and knowledge about avoiding target related issues is far better now than it was most of those decades. I don't shoot at pennies anymore but I can still worry a 3D kill zone pretty hard.

I was never over-bowed or even heavy bowed during any of those years. Once I hit 16 years old I hunted shot 43-50 pound curves - still do.

(I had a 34-year gap where compounds were my choice.)

I love to shoot.

The opportunity for personal shot execution improvement remains vast and uncharted. While endeavoring to gain 2”s and losing 1”, as time moves forward, is still progression and quite fulfilling.

56 and my eyes are starting to not do what I want them to . . . and you can only shoot as good as you can see.

64 this year.I have dropped maybe 5lbs in the last five years.  Very comfortable shooting 51 to 53 lbs but feel  55 lbs is manageable.

Distance-wise it hasn't changed much.  Twenty yards is still maximum.

Started shooting at 41, 61 now. About a ten year layoff in the middle, unfortunately (life got a little strange).

I'm definitely better now than in my earlier years. I hope, intend, and expect to get better still.

Haven't gotten to "good" yet.

66, still working and still shooting. Though I can still shoot the weight I shot when I was younger, I got smarter and there is no reason to. Biggest problem are the eyes, during the the day its not that bad but, when the light starts to wane, that is when I start to have slight problems.

You young guys have it made today, with what they know now about how to eat right and medical technology it will be great for you down the road, that is if your allowed to shoot anythig, but whatever, stay in shape.

I told my doctor it was like having to drink a gallon of somebody else's spit. He thought it was funny and said he'd never heard it put that way, but I was serious. You won't even know you had the colonoscopy, but you certainly won't forget the gallon of spit! Which, by the way, rhymes with what it will make you do!    :scared:

Now, to address the topic: other than liking 45-50# better than over 50, I really can't say I've noticed much difference in accuracy. I shoot as often as I can, but I must admit, killing critters isn't as important as just being out in the woods enjoying the day.
