Looking for climbing stand for next season
« on: January 11, 2016, 05:15:00 PM »
I'm currently looking at the Treewalkers and Lone Wolf hand climbers, but am open to suggestions.  I borrowed an Ol'Man this past weekend and will definitely not be purchasing one of those. Way too much noise and I will not tolerate a loud stand.  The Lone Wolf doesn't have any rails/restrictions, but I've read the Treewalker is about as comfortable as it gets. I also like that the Treewalker fits together for packing. I would like to know if some of y'all have used both and which you would prefer or if you prefer a different brand. Thanks!

Never used the Treewalker.  Have used a LW hand climber for years.  Very quiet, sturdy, comfortable and easy to use.  Seat packs into the stand platform as close as anything else I've seen.

I've had a lone wolf hand climber since they came out. Very quiet, compact, fast and easy to set up, however in my opinion it is only comfy for 4-5 hour sits MAX. I also think they require a little more physical strength to use than most I have used. Never used a Treewalker so can't shed any light there. Hope this helps.

I like my Summit Specialist it is an open Shot with a sagging nylon seat. You wont find a better shootin stand but probably quieter. Was the Ole Man the Alumalite? I did hear it is noisy. I have a steel Vision that is very quiet.

I have a tree walker, and it is great. I tried a few other stands that friends owned before buying, and was sold on the treewalker. It was comfortable, and easy to use.

Love my Lone Wolf for  3-4 hour hunts. It is perfect for what I use it for, if I have a spot I want to hunt all day I'm putting up my comfy hang on.

Get the LW hand climber top only from Sportman's Guide and couple it with your current climber bottom if you have one.  Only $150

I like having a larger bottom platform

Lone wolf.  Id trade some of my bows before I'd trade that stand.

Love my lone wolf hand climber. If had it since 2002. I used it a lot this year due to lack of deer and the late season all my hang, ons ladder and homemade stands get iced up full of snow and become to noisy to hunt out of especially trad. Its light packs flat and is quiet due to its cast aluminum construction no welds,or,rivets,to,creek and pop. If you can drag a deer out your in good enough shape to use it. I'm 48 I'm in decent shape but have been in better shape I have no problems.

Check out XOP stands they are same as lone wolf. Andrea d Aquisto who started LW. Sold LW a few yrs back and has the rights to use the patents. So he and his son started XOP. And,have added some new inovations as well. And the best part is the are priced a bit lower than LW.
