fletching tape with gasket laquer...
« on: October 17, 2007, 06:46:00 PM »
...Anybody else have any problems with this combo? I had the fletching seperate from the last dozen arrows I made. Never had any issues with fletching tape before. This last batch was the first time I've ever used it on a gasket laquer finish though, and am wondering if the tape adhesive might not be compatible with the laquer?

I have used fletching tape with gasket laquer and just about every other sealant used and never had a problem.  Maybe you got a bad roll of tape or something?  Fletching tape has saved me countless hours the past 5 or 6 years.

I have never had a problem with fletching tape over gasket laquer either.  After you put your feathers on do you run something down the quill?  If not that could be the problem.
