My new "old" bow
« on: January 31, 2016, 01:27:00 PM »
I picked this up from a seasoned veteran on line the other day and I'm really liking the way it shoots.
He said he was the one and only owner and took 3 deer and 1 black bear with it.
I took it apart and cleaned it up a bit, sanded it down and re finished it.
I paired it up with some traditional Gold Tip 340 spines cut to 30.25" three feather right helical, brass insert with 145gr point weight, so far they fly really well, I'll experiment with lighter and heavier weights just to see what's the best. I'm digging the old school sight on it, though I'm not sure if I'll keep it.
60lb at 28", this will be my go to deer and larger game bow, I also have a 50lb Herters wich will be my turkey bow, shoting 2016 aluminums of of it.
The stick addiction has kicked in and I'm probably well on my way to a wall full, I've even begun to look at my compound bow lately with some distain, haha....heres a few before picks, I didn't take any after pics yet. Oh if anyone is interested in purchasing that older Browning sight off the bow, let me know and lets see if we can work out a trade or sale.

Certainly is an attractive bow to me. I like its lines, and the green glass color offset is the bomb! I think you got a good one.

You may as well bite the bullet and sell off the wheels.... I can tell you from experience, it will only be a dust collector. Just think, that money can buy ANOTHER trad bow!

I had Kanati make a nice quiver for me that's on my Herters, I'd like to have one made for this bow as well, maybe a brown and green color.
