OK gang. Give me your longbow grip preferences: (for example) Low wrist design. Dish shaped. With leather wrap. (another example): Medium wrist. Locator grip. No leather grip... Just feel of the wood !

Straight grip, leather wrap, 2" deep and 1" wide--race track grip. Second choice would be the same specs but only a slight dish.

very defined locator, bordering on low wrist pistol grip, the contact area being narrowed slightly, and with leather.
Recently ground my ASL to those dimensions and am pleased beyond belief. Nearly ALWAYS grab it the same way every time now.

Low wrist locater grip. I have both but prefer a leather wrap. I just want my grip to be comfortable and one that puts my hand in the same place every time.

for hills I found I shoot a whole lot better with a straight 1 1/2" front to back and suede side of the leather out, .
for R/D bows I like a low wrist with a palm swell and I like the grip just big enough so my thumb tip just barely overlaps my pointing finger tip.

Learning to shoot what you have is a good challenge...and i have many but I guess I prefer the plain wood, locator, medium, (recurve style) like my RER Vortec.
Big Jim's Thunderchild beaver takedown very close second choice.

I always thought the grip was very important and felt my RER's and my new Java Man had the best grip obtainable. I just picked up a Two Tracks Echo Hill style bow with straight grip and found out the grip may not make all that much difference to me.
I no longer choke the grip and just let it rest against the base of my thumb and it seems to matter not at all what the grip is like. The Echo grip is rather thin on the rear (belly) and I guess if it were a heavy weight bow, it could get uncomfortable with all that pressure on a narrow line, but at 46# it feels fine.
