Sierra Blanco bows questions?
« on: February 13, 2016, 09:35:00 AM »
I have been looking at the Sierra Blanco bows for a little while now. Since I know this is the best place to find answers, let's have it. What are your opinions about the Sierra Blanco bows? I want to know everything you can tell me, from the way they shoot to the company itself.

I bought one used.It was a 60 incher. It took about a 55 inch string. So it strung up a bit shorter than other 60 inch bows.

I had always wanted a Rocky Mountain recurve. So I bought this Blanca bow to get something with the near same design. It was purple heart and I think a shedua riser. The riser is nice and steamlined. Not blocky at all.Good looking riser IMO.Brown glass limbs.

It shot nice and was easy pointing.Due to the highly deflexed design.I liked the grip.Kinda like a bear 59er.All and all a well made, solid and very functional bow that had nice lines.

I think these bows were offered in 3 riser lengths (15,17&19 inches) and maybe 2 different limb lengths? Not positive though.

I know nothing about the company or Bowyer.Since I bought it second hand

Thank you! Any information is more than I know. I really like the looks of the bows myself and I have always shot that type of hand placement well. Just don't know about the company.

The Company is Jess Stuart and a fine gentleman and one who builds an excellent bow.  The closest you will find to the old Rocky Mountain Recurve with some improvements.  You can't go wrong  with one of his bows.

I own two original Rocky Mountain Recurves and one Sierra Blanca.  Pound for pound, the Sierra Blanca is faster and quieter than the RMRs.  It shoots every bit as accurately too.

Like the original RMRs, Jess makes models with limbs that taper down to a narrower riser and some that remain full width.  The narrower, tapered models make for very handy and light takedown bows.

Jess backs his bows 100% and is a great guy to deal with.  If you are interested in a Sierra Blanca bow, I recommend them highly. - John
