Oklahoma hunting?
« on: February 16, 2016, 12:56:00 PM »
Hey guys I moved to the okc area and this last dear season was my first attempting to deer hunt up here and didn't have any luck after a lot of effort. The areas around the city seem to have massive hunting pressure and the dear up here have all pretty much gone nocturnal.

Does anyone have recomendations for hunting here in oklahoma, preferably central oklahoma? I am interested in all trad hunting. Through the spring/summer I'd like to try hog hunting.
ThanKS guys,
Ty

It's been many years, but I used to have some luck at several WMAs north of Tulsa.

Candy Creek
Copan (near Kansas line)
John Dahl
Skiatook

I used to live near the Woolaroc Museum south of Bartlesville and never had any trouble getting permission to hunt private land...but that was almost 20 years ago.

We were just at Canton OK a couple weeks ago.  There is a very large WMA and lake associated with that location.  Although there are pigs there, they are hit really hard by the local farmers.  But we saw TONS of deer, coyote, quail, armadillos, skwerls, bunnies, porshapines and more.
