« on: February 18, 2016, 06:17:00 PM »
i have a 45# carsage recurve that has the strikerplate set to centershot, i draw it to 28".this bow tunes with easton 600s cut to 29-3/8" with a 125 grain tip and 4 fletch 3 inch feathers.i need to have my arrow atleast 29 inches long. should i get 1916s or 2016s? will the 1916s give me an arrow thats shorter than 29 when i bareshaft? will moving to 100 grain points work better for the 1916s?

Either should work fine, I'm guessing
the 2016 with it tuned to center.

You are on a cusp.
You might do well to try 2016, and add point weight or length to tune. You may also like a 2013.

If you go with the stiffer ones, you can get 5gr brass washers. Just a thought.

Shot 2016s out of my 70s Bear kodiak, grizzly, and a and b mag bows, 45-50lbs.
Great shafts!

Unfortunately Easton has cut back on their offerings. That size (2013) may still be available in the Platinum. Have heard 1916 is not common as it used to be. Both sizes were offered in Legecy shafts years ago.
I like the 2014 in the X7 shaft but my usual guy has stopped carrying them.

Many places still offer 1916 and 2016 Legacy shafts. You can get a couple shafts each at Lan caster archery in Pa.

Yes, that's why I prefer 2016, easily available!
Nocks and inserts, also.

You can also add more weight to tune, hard to take weight off.

Still a great shaft!
