started out headed to river to go fishing for the day, but the river was muddy and a few feet high, and I couldn't buy a bite. so I found a creek off of the river and went up that looking for a little clearer water. it was ,but just a little. seen some carp along the banks, but they were very spooky. when I would get close they would take off. so I had to really slowdown and turn the trolling motor all the way down. then I started getting shots. seen about a 50" gar come ghosting by but no shot, he never did show hiself again. this is what I ended up taking. it was fun anyways!

Very nice. I also like the Saxon recurve. Don’t see many of those around anymore.

Nice fish! I have shot some whoppers on the Meramac by flamm city back behind the Ameren plant when the river floods. As me and my buddy say, when the gar's eyes get bigger than golf balls it gets spooky! I have seen some absolute GIANTS up from the Arnold ramp close to the old quarry. We would just float out in the middle of the quarry and wait for them to surface. It would be a shooting gallery and most of the gar were slammers!

up the river, around Robertsville. I prefer the upper maremac. the lower section just aint what it used to be. and its really flooded down on the lower stretches right now. would love to get out on it and do some bowfishin down there . but all the boat ramps are closed.

Nice work. I’ve only been bowfishing a few times, and if I wasn’t careful I’d get addicted! Too much fun.
