Wondering what the proper brace height is for a Hummingbird free spirit takedown recurve is? Thanks!

Have my H'bird Kingfisher set at 7 3/8", basically the same bow as yours. Good shooting bows and certainly one of the smoothest. Have fun.
The essence of the hunt for me is to enter nature and observe+ return safely occasionally with the gift of a life taken.

I have the free spirit also.  I found 7 3/8 to work also.  A very smooth and fast bow.  You will like it.

Thanks guys, we've had it a long time, it was my Dad's custom made bow. I killed a Doe with it a few years ago when he was still alive. Thought I'd try to kill a turkey with it this spring in honor of him. I put a new string on it, but didn't know and couldn't remember where to set the brace height. The old string was a little long and we had to twist it quite a bit to get it right. My new string is a little short for it so I have it set at 7 1/2 till I can order the correct length. You guys are right, they are smooth, quiet and hit where you looking. Thanks again!

Using it in your Dad's honor is a great idea.

I ran mine at 7.5" for a while and it was still good there.  Your probably not gonna notice much difference leaving it there, I know I didn't really notice much difference when I was searching.  It was about the same from 7.5 to 7.25".  Maybe a real small difference in sound, and I mean small.  The smoothness and performance will be about the same.  As long as your arrows fly true your good.

I wish you the best with your turkey hunting.

Thank you sir, new string had stretched and it is down to 7 3/8 and does seem a bit quieter. I think I'll try and keep it there for now. Thanks for the good luck, I'm sure I'll need it!
