I've got my grandpa's 1969 bear grizzly all refinished but not sure on the brace height needed, I've read anywhere from 7 to 9.5". It's 56" amo. Thanks for the help!

Yeah I started at 8 with a new b55 string shot awhile and it had stretched to around 7 3/4 bow was kinda loud kept playing with it and seem to like 8 3/4 I just gave the string 3 or 4 twist till it started getting quiet then settled around 8 3/4 when all was said and done. I put string scallops from two tracks for silencers on and the bow got a bit more quiet when I added a set of the small brush buttons.

I'm no guru by any means, but just helped a buddy tune a 58#-56" grizzly couple months ago. It quieted down and smoothed out about 8 5/8- 8 3/4.

A Bear reference card I have suggests 7 1/2 to 8 1/2 for a 58-inch Grizzly.  It's obviously a newer sheet because it doesn't contain info on the 56-inch bow. High end of the above range should be in the ballpark, as other's experiences show.

Are you guys all referring to the same measuring point?  Back of the shelf or lowest point of the grip?  Makes a difference.  Just didn't see any reference to that.

When I measure brace height I measure from the deepest point on the grip. Believe that's right
