First ash arrow build

Here is my first ash arrow. Pictures aren't that great and I apologize. I made a mistake when I cut the length before tapering but will correct with next arrows. Ended up weighing 697 grains with a 125 grain field tip.

I killed my Mountai Lion with a Ash shaft though as nail one of the strongest arrow materials available.

Nice job!
Yep, they are tough as heck, you'll see why they use it for ball bats & tool handles.

Like all woodies, great stuff if you can get straight grained stuff...first ones I tried had all sorts of grain run out, crooked as a politician, wouldn't hold a straightening with heat (too long to get in oven, my grill, etc) (problem with long arrows I guess).
Needed a special tool (Wood chuck) to grind the point and nock tapers, other'n that, yea, they were tuffer'n some other materials!
