yeah, it's meant as a backstop. from my 53# bows, an arrow might penetrate 3/4" or so. it can be a little tough to pull an arrow out. sometimes have to unscrew the field point and pull the arrow out. most times, they only penetrate 1/4" or so and can be pulled out.
kind of depends on distance, but i definitely wouldn't use it as a primary target.
super duper backstop though.

I have used the stall mat backstops before and really don't care for them. They are tough to remove arrows from, especially with footed carbons. That aluminum footing catches and holds tight.
