Black Widow Recurve Pre-load Question
« on: March 27, 2016, 12:34:00 AM »
Do all Black Widow recurves have a similar feel?  For instance, will 2 bows with the same wroking limb length such as a 62" 50# PMA feel the same as a 58" 50# PCH (especially early in the draw) or will the longer riser PMA have a slightly more gradual draw with less pre-load?

Before I ordered my Widow I had similiar questions. Toby and the guys at BW are very helpful. I would suggest ya drop em a note or even call them. They always answered my questions in a timely manner.

From experience the 64" is a pretty smooth bow. But it does have some preload to it. You can test drive one from BW.

As far as I know the limb design is not very different for the different models of the 3 piece takedown recurves. The main differences are the riser sizes and lengths of the limbs offered with each bow. Now with that said the models with shorter risers and longer limbs should be the smoothest drawing bows usually. The models you have chosen both have the same length of working limb which should mean that they will feel similar, but because the PMA is longer overall it will most likely feel like it has a more gradual draw because the string angle is less on your drawing hand.
