Outserts: Black Eagle or Firenock

The difference between the two outserts are the Black Eagle are longer and smooth. The Firenocks are shorter and grooved/fluted. The Black Eagles cover more of the shaft, more footing by about 1/4". One is 7075 t6 the other 7075 t7 aluminum.
I've bent some of the Black Eagle outserts on direct hits with rocks using Deep Impact arrows, hits that would destroy other arrows. Does anyone have any trial and efforts between the two? Despite the Firenocks providing less of a footing, I'm wondering if the fluting helps durability at all.

Tzolk,Firenocks are a great product and extremely durable. Only down side is price and hard to pull from a bag target.
We tested some on a 80lb wheelie bow with Deep Impact shafts shafts in to a concrete block.
Arrow and Firenocks made it through 5 shoots with out a scratch but the field point was destroyed every shoot.

I'm shooting Goltip Pierce arrows with they're outsert setup and I haven't had a single problem yet. I've done a lot of stump shooting and have shot some stuff that's way harder than I thought without them bending or cracking. I've read a lot on outsets and that's what kept me away from micro diameter arrows, I'm very happy I tried the Goldtip Pierce arrows and they're outsert setup because I don't see how you could get much better.

Black eagle is selling steel outsert for deep impact arrows in 300 350 and 400 spine more durable than the aluminum one. For an ultimate strength I use an internal footing that goes a little longer than the place where the outsert stop. The lightest yet strong thing is a 2 inch 4 mm (0.156")  diameter piece of carbon shaft that are used for kite building. Another option is the Easton micro HIT steel insert used as internal footing but more expensive and heavier (28 gr)
That way with the steel outsert and the internal footing a little longer inside the shaft you get an extremely strong arrow ( it can take several shots in a concrete bloc without damage with 60# bows)

Yes ,have there aluminum outserts and have had no problems with them but have not done a destruction test on them yet

At least on paper, the T6 heat treatment of the Black Eagle brand should be superior. I like that steel outsert better but that would cause me to reinvest in lighter points.

I have both and I prefer the Firenock.  But honestly, either is good.
