What can you all tell me about the Big River 1969 Bear reproduction recurve?  Just worked out a trade for one but not finding much info.  Found a lot of stuff about the longbows but few mentions of the recurves.

Brad,

the tips tend to be a little more "blocky" than the original but they shoot great. In fact, I would argue, they shoot a bit better but it may just be my bias toward Big River bows.

I've seen a  few where the grips didnt agree with me but, with that being said, they are a custom bow and sometimes people order funny shaped grips.

My dad has an all maple one that shoots right there with all my higher end bows.

Hope that helps a bit....
Relax,

I've got the first one John made. He made it for  the late lamont Granger. I think it was Lamont who got John to start building them, John always said there was to much wood in them. It's a 60" and I believe after this one he made them all 62". It shoots great. I use it as my December bow as it's only 50@28.
