Here's the deal...You are going to buy a new longbow and money is no object. You don't want snake skins but anything to else is open. A 2-piece or 3-piece will be considered. Woods/Carbon/Micarta isnt a factor unless you want to specify your choice and why. Build time would be a consideration. Which bow would you buy and why?

Sure miss my 64" widow longbow. The best shooting longbow that I ever owned. It was a camo X model. It was a fine hunting bow that got away. I would go with a new widow.

Silvertip 3 pc or GrizzlyStik QN2.
If you had said 1 pc, I would definitely said Thunderstick MOAB.

Northern Mist Baraga....true craftsman that puts everything into his craft with a lot of respect for the history. Light r/d that strings up to a true d shape. Shoots where you look and is smooth.
Big Jim 2 piece buffalo. Loved that bow. Again. Pulls smooth and hits hard.
Bigfoot Flatliner. Kirk is an amazing craftsman and seems like he is a true student of what makes a bow perform. Dedicated to his craft and that bow is amazing.
There are more expensive bows out there and many other amazing Craftsmen. I just want a working bow that I can take into the woods and grow to shoot well. These are what I personally would look at first.

Did that in June, got the bow on Boxing Day.
Wes Wallace Royal, two piece takedown. Maccassar ebony riser, yew cores, myrtle veneers, antler overlay and tips.
Usually around a six month wait, knew that, not an issue. Have Irish twins at this point, cocobolo and yew one piece and the takedown, odds are good there's going to be another one here sooner or later, nother takedown.
Will also admit to having a hankering for a two piece Thunderchild...

Toelke Pika or Treadway Black Swamp. Would have to be two piece in the low 50s. Both are true artist, would simply tell them to use the best stuff in the house.

Based on the used PL-X that I now own it would likely be a 64 inch PL-X 2 piece takedown

I agree that the BW PLX is a fine bow. But I sold my PLX, and kept two bows that I think are better:
1. Fox Triple Crown
2. TimberPoint Odyssey (although I would order a Kraken if I were to order again).
Best of luck.

I'd stay local and get another one from Mike Dunaway at Wild Horse Creek Bows.
