wood arrow spine help

i have a 50#@28" longbow that is slightly deflex.it has about the same profile as the bear montana.it is cut to center and has a strike plate that is 1/8" thick.i draw the full 28" and have a 14 strand b55 string on it, i would like to have wood arrows that and have 3" feathers in a four fletch and 29-30" behind the point, which will be 125 grains but im not sure whether to get 50-55 or 55-60 shafts.any help would be greatly appreciated.

MY best suggestion would be to order a test kit of shafts from whichever supplier you choose.

That will let you try out different spines and see what you need to fit that bow, before you order a full dozen shafts.

Plus, you will use the test kit more frequently that you think....don't ask me how I know!

If your gonna fletch them yourself, I would call Surewood and get a test pack of shafts 45/50-50/55-55/60.

i would do the test kit up to 60/65

with 4 four inch and 29 inches back of point with 125 grains, the charts say 51 to 54 spine.

I'd start with 50-55's. Or a test kit if you're inclined, probably 55/60 at most. Those 50-55's oughta be tuneable.

I suggest you put a high performance string on. Or at the least, try to go down to a 12 strand dacron string.

As others have said, test shafts, and I would start at 45.

A test kit is always a good idea, but either of your choices will work.  I've always found that bows will shoot well wood arrows that are a bit overspined, but not so with arrows that are underpined.

My experiance is 10 to 15 lbs. heavier than your bow the longer the arrow the stiffer  try 60 to 65

Well, maybe I misunderstood, but the bow is some what deflex .... string follow?

Frank, I think sticks&stringz meant reflex/deflex; he said the profile looks like the Montana.
