what bonding agent for aluminum nocks?
« on: May 17, 2016, 10:05:00 AM »
What do you guys use for attaching nocks to aluminum arrows?  I want this to be the BEST POSSIBLE do they wont have to be redone anytime soon.  These are for a local camp and I would love for them to make it through this year.

I use 2 part epoxy from a hardware store, the kind you squirt a little out and mix it together, for the inserts and nocks.  They ain't goin nowhere lol.  If I bust a nock and it needs replaced, I sand it down to bare metal and glue another one on.

I've always used Duco for mine. Just be sure to clean the nock, taper with alcohol or acetone first. The nocks stay put until you need to replace them.

We always used Fletchtite back in the 90's...more likely to break a nock than have it come loose

I use Locktite Ultra gel but only because that is what  put the feathers on with. Duco works for for nocks and has been used for about 50 plus  years.

I use Saunders NPV.  I wipe the nock with denatured alcohol first, and let it dry for 20 seconds.  Works well.

The two part epoxy takes a little time to dry, but it's there until it breaks.

Everyone used fletch tite forever. Never used Ducco on metal arrows, told that was not good. Nowadays I use NPV glue from Saunders. I know some people used super glue. Never had nocks fall off alum arrows. Shot off from other arrows, yes, especially shooting indoor leagues.

When I shot aluminum, I used fletchtite, and never had any issues with nocks coming off of my arrows.

Fletchtite or ducco should work.

I dont even glue them on my arrows. Just a good push and twist and they stay on just fine.
