Making a Palmer quiet
« on: October 22, 2007, 12:10:00 PM »
Well,,,, after 25 years years of longbows I finally bought a Palmer recurve...  Had many tell me they were extremely noisey.  I spent maybe 15 minutes and got it to be whisper quiet.  Put woolie balls 12" in from loop ends. (one on each end)  then I put soem of those stick on limbsavers on each limb 9" in from ends.  I had found the limbs to be extremely thin and this caused a rattle at the end stroke of each shot.  The limbsavers got rid of that all together.  Oh and I also put one of my 12  strand dynaflight strings on it.  It outs the arrow exactly were you aim each and every time.  Have to sya I am impressed!
Getting older I tend to talk to myself but, at least I know that I am as smart as the one I am talking to.

Got the bow from Ron here on the Tradgang site....Thanks Ron - really enjoying the bow.  Making it my number one hunting bow for this years' outings...

I know what ya mean. I got a Palmer from Bowwalker and I love it! Great shooter and really slams a heavy arrow home.

Man I guess I should proof read my stuff before I post it.  Sorry about all the mistakes but , I think you knew what I meant.

Mine spits an arrow out at 194 FPS with a 500 grain arrow.  Bow is 57# @ 27 inches and that is exactly my draw length.
